Blue Gate Research Institute was formerly a "Department of Research and Knowledge Management" under Blue Gate Public Health Promotion Initiative which is a non-governmental organisation established in 2010 (Incorporated in 2016).

Blue Gate Research Institute undertakes, promotes and coordinates research at the multidisciplinary level for decision making, strategic planning, policy formulation and programme implementations. We do this by securing and accepting grants-in-aid, donations, gifts, endowments from any willing parties on a mutually agreed basis for research and development.
